[PARPORT] external CD on oldish satellite 110

Hi everyone:

I need hearing from someone trying to /succeding at installing an
external CD on a parallel port on an oldish toshiba satellite 110.

Which device should I get?
What about the cable?
Any hints, suggestions wellcome.

As I understand from the archive, once installed the device it is
possible to run installation from CD. REALLY that simple?
