[PARPORT] Async write on lp0

I'd like to write to lp0 in nonblocking mode. It is
possible? Where can I find documantation about this?
I tried to open lp0 with the O_NONBLOCK flag but it
keeps working in blocking mode (i.e. it blocks if
there is no printer connected).
