    Thanks Norman!

Now I know that the driver is working fine also I could
access the cd using the pcd.

But seems that the problem isn't the driver. So I want to
change my question how can I use the pg with cdrecord.

I did not find much info on that just a paragraph saying
that the pg can be used as driver for cdrecord.
And the man pages of cdrecord do not have any iformation
    on paride.

the cdrecord -scanbus do not find any usable device, so that
i do not have any idea what device I have to indicate as
    device to cdrecord.

If anyone could give me a hint I would apriciate it.

    Thanks

    Rainer

    Hi Rainer,
you can use dmesg for examining the load process of your modules. epat might
not be the correct protocol for a Mitsumi. Try to load all protocols before
loading pg. pg will automatically detect the correct one - and make sure
that your parallel port runs in EPP mode.

    Regards,
    Norman

Betreff: [PARPORT] Paride, epat, pg todo funciona pero no se ve el CDr

    Hi all!

I am running a SuSE Linux 7.2 kernel version 2.4.4
on a Compaq Presario 1246 Notebook
I do also have a Mitsui CDR which is installed in a
    Paralellport IDE adapter case.

The CDr is doing fine with Windows (but I am not).

So my problem is that I was able to install all modules

    modprobe paride
    modprobe epat
    modprobe pg

and non of them reported an error or any other problem.
But neither they reported a successfull connection.

And all pgX devices don't work.

Could anyone tell me what could be the problem or at least
if there is any log were probably some misbehavier is loged?

    Thanks in advance

    Rainer
