I am trying to configure HP 7200 CD-Writer on kernel 2.0.36 (RedHat 5.2)
Following output is obtained on loading the required modules:
---------------------------------
$ insmod paride
paride: version 1.02 installed
$ insmod epat
paride: epat registered as protocol 0
$ insmod pg verbose=1
pg: pg version 1.02s, major 97
pg0: epat: port 0x3bc, mode 0, ccr ff, test=(255,255,510)
pg0: epat: port 0x3bc, mode 1, ccr ff, test=(255,255,510)
pg0: epat: port 0x3bc, mode 2, ccr ff, test=(255,255,510)
pg0: epat: port 0x378, mode 0, ccr 0, test=(256,0,0)

pg0: epat: port 0x378, mode 4, ccr 0, test=(256,0,0)
pg0: epat: port 0x378, mode 5, ccr 0, test=(256,0,0)
pg0: epat 1.01, Shuttle EPAT chip c6 at 0x378, mode 5 (EPP-32), delay 1
pg0: Reset (1) signature = 7f 7f 7f 7f 7f (incorrect)
pg0: Reset (203) signature = 1 1 1 14 eb
pg0: HP CD-Writer+ 7200, slave
----------------------------------------
pg seems to have detected the CD-Writer.
However, cdrecord doesn't detect it.
---------------------------------------
$ cdrecord -scanbus
cdrecord release 1.6 copyright (c) 1995-1998 J%rg Schilling
cdrecord: No target found
--------------------------------------
Any idea what's wrong?
I know the delay should be set to 0 but the BIOS has no option for doing
this.
I have no idea what's this "incorrect signature".
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
