Hello,
I'm trying to use the paride system on 2.4.17 (EPAT protocol with a
Quick Drive external hard drive adapter, all relative devices built as
modules) and my system is slowing down to a crawl, or even completely
crashing, whenever I copy data to the drive (or rather, when the system
runs a sync and tries to commit the data to the drive). Copying data from
the drive seems to work fine though.
I have a P3/600 with 384megs of RAM, and have the BIOS set to use EPP
mode (although I have also tried ECP+EPP with DMA, but there was no
difference). Unfortunately, I can't get the system to detect that my
parallel port is set to anything other than SPP. I've tried various
options, but the /proc/sys/dev/parport/parport0/mode file always says just
"PCSPP".
Any clues on either of these problems?
