    Hello. Does any one have any ideas what the problem might be with par0
    on the above kernel?

    It's not seeing the device, which is there, and I followed instruct. in
    parport.txt for building the driver into the kernel. Can anyone tell
    from the following info whether I missed something, or if this might be
    a bug?

    Any input greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Steve

    debian:/usr/src/kernel-source-2.4.14# ls -l /dev/par*
    crw-rw---- 1 root lp 6, 0 Oct 18 2000 /dev/par0
    crw-rw---- 1 root lp 6, 1 Oct 18 2000 /dev/par1
    crw-rw---- 1 root lp 6, 2 Oct 18 2000 /dev/par2

    Driver is in the kernel - here's relevant config/other details:

    CONFIG_PARPORT=y
    CONFIG_PARPORT_PC=y
    CONFIG_PARPORT_PC_CML1=y

    cat /proc/interrupts:
