I believe that Al gave you good advice... slow down the drive.

Looks like a buffer under-run.
Cdrecord was attempting a write, but when the drive got the write it said
"hey I'm way past where you want me to write", thus this error.
If I recall correctly, I've had parallel port record speeds on linux going
as high as 4x, but depending on your settings and the configuration of your
machine, you may not be as fast.
Indeed, Make sure your parallel port is set for EPP, for the best
performance.
If that doesn't work.. tone down your record speed ( speed=X in cdrecord)
