Hello,
This is an old one, but i still can't make it work smoothly.
After modprobing with:
modprobe parport_pc io=0x378 irq=7
modprobe paride
modprobe epat
modprobe pf nice=2 verbose=1
I get:
parport_pc: Via 686A parallel port: io=0x378
parport0: PC-style at 0x378, irq 7 [PCSPP,TRISTATE,EPP]
paride: version 1.06 installed (parport)
paride: epat registered as protocol 0
pf: pf version 1.04, major 47, cluster 64, nice 2
epat_init_protopf0: 0x378 is parport0
pf0: epat: port 0x378, mode 0, ccr 0, test=(0,255,0)
pf0: epat: port 0x378, mode 1, ccr 40, test=(224,255,448)
pf0: epat: port 0x378, mode 2, ccr 0, test=(0,255,0)
pf0: epat: port 0x378, mode 3, ccr 0, test=(0,255,0)
pf0: epat: port 0x378, mode 4, ccr 0, test=(0,255,0)
pf0: epat: port 0x378, mode 5, ccr 0, test=(0,255,0)
pf0: Sharing parport0 at 0x378
pf0: epat 1.02, Shuttle EPAT chip c8 at 0x378, mode 5 (EPP-32), delay 1
pf0: Reset (1) signature = 1 1 1 14 eb
pf0: MATSHITA LS-120 VER5 00, master LUN 0, type 0, removable, 246528 blocks
It has a superdisk in it, and the real problem appears when i try to
read or write anything, system almost suspended while using the device.
The BIOS is set to EPP 1.9 --it has the version 1.7, but i don't think
it'll make a big difference.
One more thing, when i try to set a dma in the parport_pc module, it
ignores it and cat /proc/sys/dev/parport/parport0/dma gives me -1.
I hope somebody could help.
Regards,
Manuel.
