OK, I've checked out my BIOS and I have three settings for my parallel
port:
Auto: BIOS or OS chooses configuration
Disabled
Enabled
The default setting is Auto, which is how it was when I installed Red
Hat. Within Enabled there are three further categories: Output Only,
Bi-directional and ECP/EPP. I've tried each of these and in all cases
read and writes to and from the zip drive are incredibly slow. In the
ECP/EPP setting the parameters for the parallel port are:
Base I/O Address : 378
Interrupt : IRQ7
DMA Channel : DMA3
Any further suggestions?
Thanks,
Chris.
