You've got some other device using that port, most likely 'lp'. Build
a kernel with the lp driver as a module (if it isn't already) and
unload lp before loading pd.

This is no longer a problem with the 2.1 kernels as PARIDE and PARPORT
cooperate to share ports, but the "legacy" 2.0 version of PARIDE doesn't
include this support.
