I picked up the ``latest'' ppa.tar.gz which unpacks into ppa_1.42 but could
also be ppa_1.41 according to dmesg...
Start off with booting linux (RHL 5.0/Intel). Try ./ppa_1_42/common/id_probe
Probing port 03bc
Probing port 0278
Probing port 0378
SPP port present
ECP with a 16 byte FIFO present
Passed Intel bug check.
Fine. Then insmod ppa_1_42/ppa_mono/ppa.o and run dmesg
ppa: Version 1.41
ppa: Probing port 03bc
NatSemi PC87332 (or variant) at 0x0378
Old reg1 = 04
Old reg2 = 88
ppa: Probing port 0378
ppa: SPP port present
ppa: EPP 1.9 with software direction protocol
ppa: Found device at ID 6, Attempting to use EPP 32 bit
ppa: Communication established with ID 6 using EPP 32 bit
