As Philip pointed out instead it matter, infact it could cause the printer
to reset if the ECR aliases to CTR. So it' s better to use 0xc in the SPP
detection stage. Then parport_pc will reinitialize the ECR if present to
0x0 and doing that will avoid problems with ECP DMA.
So my patch should be right replacing 0x0 to 0xc.
