I'm currently running 2.1.113 and find that the parallel port stuff isn't
as documented in /usr/src/linux/Documentation/parport.txt. Is this
document current? It references "parport_pc.o" which does not exist when
I compile parallel support and printer support in modularlly.
Whenever I attempt to modprobe ppa for Zip support, it claims that no
devices are found where this used to work in older 2.1.x kernels and
2.0.x.
If I insmod lp, it loads, but attempts to print give a "permission denied
by device" or something similar.
Have I misconfigured something or is it not working? The docs appear to
be incorrect as well.
My parallel port is set at ECP on an FIC PA-2007 (0x378, IRQ 7) and has a
parallel Zip, Mustek scanner, and an Epson Stylus Color 600.
Any assistance is appreciated.
