    I took this photograph in Vichy and manipulated it to make it more interesting. I like black & white photos where just one element is colour tinted and it worked quite well with this picture.

How many times have I walked past this place on the way up the High Street, concentrating instead on the glitzy modern shops and what I needed to buy.     After spending the morning running around in the snow, this afternoon I decided to sort the best of our older photos to put on the gallery. These have been taken over the past 3 years or so and are mainly macro shots, scenery and wildlife. I tried to be picky with what I’ve put on there but wanted to include some of Guildford and the area and some of the photo manipulations we’ve played around with.   • Oh to be beside the seaside

    Just returned from a very enjoyable and relaxing week in North Devon and realised afresh how much I miss living by the sea. Last year we did little travelling so this break was very welcome and appreciated by us both. We stayed at Instow, a little village on the River Torridge lying between Barnstaple and Bideford. I used to live in Westward Ho! and go through Instow every day by bus on the way to work, always liked the atmosphere of the place very much. Read more »
