  • The Prestige

    I saw the excellent film of this first, and immediately wanted to read the book. I hoped I could still get the same amazement from it, already knowing the secrets behind the magic from the film. It’s written very well, and it is an absolutely marvellous story.

  • It’s all downhill from here

    Sue asked me what the opposite of it’s all downhill from here is. Using uphill instead of downhill doesn’t seem to improve matters, and makes it sound more like an uphill struggle. Actually I think there’s another saying like that that’s more… flat (but I can’t remember what that is).
