Having spent the morning trying to find a replacement PSU for my computer, I’m now left with the old broken one giving off a ‘slightly burnt’ smell in the corner of the room. So, how do you get rid of a broken power supply unit these days? I phoned up the local council to find out.
The nearest centre for disposing of that sort of waste, I was told, is our local “Community Recycling Centre”. In case you didn’t know, this is council-speak for “the tip”. I explained that I don’t have a car, and that it would be a special taxi journey costing over £10, and they said that in that case I’d better just put it in with the household rubbish. 🙁
