Interesting. Communication with the EPAT chip is working fine, but
accessing the device registers is not working. Do you have access
to Linux on a machine with an EPP port ?

It does seem like there is a new EPAT chip (rev c7) that some products
are starting to use. Unfortunately, I have yet to locate anything with
this chip and a DOS driver - nor have I been able to get a spec for it.

But don't panic yet - we don't know if you have a c7 chip or just an
incompatible parallel port.
