Hmm. I don't recall the details of your previous mail,
but you sent some output showing the adapter working in
bidirectional mode on port 378 ... Now it seems to have
moved to a different port and changed to SPP mode.
Please check that your CMOS settings correspond to the
parameters you are giving pg.
In order, the parameters are:
<port> 0x378, 0x3bc, etc.
<proto> 0, unless you have more than one protocol module
in your kernel.
<unit> Not currently used by EPAT, set to 0
<mode> 0 - nybble
1 - Shuttle's fast unidir mode
2 - bidirectional
3 - EPP (8 bit)
4 - EPP (16 bit)
5 - EPP (32 bit)
<slave> 0 = master drive
1 = slave drive
<delay> 0 for fastest transfers
> When trying to force mode 2, delay 0.....
> # insmod pg drive0=0x378,0,0,2,1,0 verbose=1
> Module loads without drive args....
> # insmod pg verbose=1
> pg: pg version 1.02, major 97
> parport0: PC-style at 0x3bc [SPP]
> parport0: no IEEE-1284 device present.
> pg0: 0x3bc is parport0
> pg0: epat: port 0x3bc, mode 0, ccr 0, test=(255,0,0)
> pg0: epat: port 0x3bc, mode 1, ccr 0, test=(255,0,0)
> pg0: epat: port 0x3bc, mode 2, ccr 2d, test=(255,255,510)
> pg0: Sharing parport0 at 0x3bc
> pg0: epat 1.01, Shuttle EPAT chip c6 at 0x3bc, mode 1 (5/3), delay 1
> pg0: Reset (1001) signature = ff ff ff ff ff (incorrect)
> pg0: Reset (204) signature = 1 1 1 14 eb
> pg0: HP CD-Writer+ 7100, slave
