I have finally gotten the 2.2.9 source tree up...and compiled...with the
ppSCSI-9.90.patch.
I got the kernel compiled to bzImage....and...copied to loadlin dir...on
dos disk...
ya da ya da ya da...
I reboot do
cd /lib/modules/2.2.9/scsi
insmod scsi_mod (so far great)
insmod sd_mod (so far great)
insmod ppscsi (so far great)
then for sure I do lsmod....
and see they are loaded......
then I do a
insmod epst
........now here is the bad part....sigh.
The syquest initiallizes...but freezes....the prompt...and this is the
readout I get...
==========================================================
insmod epst.o

===============================================
I tried loading them in different orders...i.e..
insmod scsi_mod
insmod ppsci
insmod epst
This then completely loaded the epst drivers with no
trouble....all ready to go...
then
insmod sd_mod....and I would get the same output as above.....
obviously I am missing something....perhaps some parameters to pass
either sd_mod or epst???
Any help appreciated...
AT LEAST I learned how to do patches.....
and change source trees.....and I have a working 2.2.9 kernel...
Daniel (still flailing in Oregon)....
