The issue with that is that some applications might expect the port to
live in ISA space at 0x378, 0x278 or 0x3bc. Under Linux it isn't really a
problem, although SIIG cards break the assumption that ECR registers live
at base+0x400. Since 2.3.5, SIIG-like cards are supported (and 2.3.6
automatically detects them from their PCI IDs).

I've yet to add support for SIIG-like cards to 2.2.
