No this isn't silly. I tried fdisk'ing before sending any questions to
this list. I should be sending you guys more debugging info (per Grant) so
Im going to send a reply to his email after this one with as much info as I
can send. When I tried the fdisk I received the message:

Unable to open /dev/pda
