I have a small program that I created/modified from a larger distribution
of a color quickcam driver that does nothing but tell you what port the
quickcam is on. It has a list of ports to try hardcoded in (that you can
change if you need to) and then it will check them one by one to see if
there is a qcam there. If you are interested in this program e-mail me at
rglinka@sun.iwu.edu and I'll tar/gzip it and send it as an attachment, or
if you need me to, i'll even post it to my webpage.
One note though, this program REQUIRES that it has root access, or else it
can't access the port.
