Is the patch-2.2.14-ppdev1.gz the patch (currently in progress) for the that
respective kernel? Looks like something I should wait out for, am I
correct?

Still, what should I do to test if the patch will work? Is the "patch
--dry-run" option the right parameter for testing the patch?
