Subject: 2.4.19-pre8, parport, DMA write timed out

If anyone knows a better place to send this problem to, please tell me.

    Problem is:

No output on /dev/lp0, on both Ultra10 and Enterprise250:

    # cat /etc/hosts > /dev/lp0
    _____________________________________________________________________
    # uname -mr
    2.4.19-pre8 sparc64

    # dmesg
    parport0: PC-style at 0x1fff13043bc (0x1fff13047bc), irq 6910912, dma 0
    [PCSPP,TRISTATE,COMPAT,ECP,DMA]
    parport0: Printer, Brother HL-1250 series
    lp0: using parport0 (interrupt-driven).
    lp0: ECP mode
    DMA write timed out

    # lsmod
    parport_pc 26472 1 (autoclean)
    lp 8328 0 (autoclean)
    parport 31440 1 (autoclean) [parport_pc lp]
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
Playing around with options (io, irq, dma) doesn't work better.
Updating to pre10 gives the same.

But 2.2 kernel works fine (same hardware!):
    ______________________________________________________________________
    # uname -mr
    2.2.18 sparc64

    # dmesg
    parport0: PC-style at 0xfffff9fff13043bc, irq 8,7e2, dma 0
    [SPP,ECP,ECPPS2]
    lp0: using parport0 (interrupt-driven).

    # lsmod
    Module Size Used by
    parport_ax 4816 1 (autoclean)
    lp 7424 0 (autoclean)
    parport 9424 1 (autoclean) [parport_ax lp]
