Thanks for everyone's help.
I ran make xconfig and added the lp driver to the
kernel as a module
Now during boot up I get:
Oct 27 07:18:39 bodine kernel: parport0: PC-style at
0x378 [SPP,PS2]
Oct 27 07:18:39 bodine kernel: parport0: Printer,
HEWLETT-PACKARD DESKJET 710C
Oct 27 07:18:39 bodine kernel: lp0: using parport0
(polling).
Now when I try the lprngtool "Print Ascii directly to
the port" test
I get no Output, plus I find no warning messages
anywhere. I looked in /var/log/messages and
/var/log/dmesg
So how do I fix this?
