Hi. I'm trying to configure a HP COLORADO 20GBe in kernel-2.4.18
for redhat 73. I read in the parallel port web that the 5GBe is
supported, so I gave it a try.
I see the device pt0, but I can't write to it. It looks like it
can't see the tape. I searched the archives and I found about changing
the BIOS parallel config. I've been trying all the combinations that
my board allows unsuccessfully.
I do:
modprobe paride
modprobe epat
modprobe pt verbose=1
Then I see this:
kernel: pt0: HP COLORADO 20GBe, master, no media
This is what happens when I try to write:
Dec 5 20:15:05 localhost kernel: pt0: Sense key: 2, ASC: 3a, ASQ: 0
Dec 5 20:15:06 localhost kernel: pt0: write filemark stat=0x51 err=0x0
Dec 5 20:15:06 localhost kernel: pt0: Sense key: 3, ASC: 30, ASQ: 0
It looks like the tape could be damaged. But I'd appreciate
any advice before buying another tape that's going to go to
the trash bin. I already tried removing the tape, loading the
module without the tape and inserting it later.
Is there something else I could try ?
