[PARPORT] New to parport

hi im new using parort I just got the 2.1.97 kernel running and it seems that arport loads :). I have a HP CD re-writer connected. I have a few questions for the wise sages out there .

1. How does one go about setting up for such a device.
2. Where can I get the cd writing software for linux
3. is there any cool setup scripts that will work for a poor brain dead newbie as myself
