Hmm. I'd bet that you switch back and forth between Linux and Win95
without powering off the system. Some Win95 drivers reprogram the parallel
ports into ECP modes. I can't imagine anything else that would make
your port show up as an SPP port.

Let me repeat: ECP mode will look like SPP to any of the PARIDE drivers.
