First, RedHat has an upgrade RPM for 2.0.35 - please upgrade your kernel
to that version (at least). You are currently using an obsolete beta
version of the PARIDE drivers.

Secondly, "pd" is the wrong driver for your device. You need to use the
"pf" driver instead. pd is for IDE disks, like the backpack hard drives.
ATAPI disks like the pd part of the PD/CD use the pf driver.
