The kernel howto, available from any LDP site (eg sunsite.unc.edu/LDP)
covers all the kernel building side of it. You can probably then just
swap the resulting kernel image with the one on a slackware boot disk,
depending on how the slackware install works nowdays. You'll certainly
want ramdisk support you may also need initrd
