Setting the delay to zero would give you a marginal improvement in the
system load - it probably wouldn't make any difference to the burning
speed.

That's why you did the trace :-) Once we know what to do, a tiny
program can fix the problem for you at boot time.

But, I forgot that you are using a built-in driver, rather than modular.

So, now I'm puzzled as to why the DOSemu trick even works - I would have
expected the BIOS to reset the port to ECP mode ... Am I missing
something about your setup ?
