It should work just fine.

Could I get you to re-do the experiment ? Power everything off. Boot
into Linux, load DOSemu with tracing turned on, use testport to force
EPP mode, exitemu and then load pg. If pg detects EPP mode, send us
the trace again.

I'm just being pedantic, in case there was any chance that the previous
trace did not capture the essential transaction.
