I'm not sure if I'm actually subscribed to this list, majordomo was
sending me crap, so plase CC all replies to jeff@zaius.dyndns.org
I recently purchased a cyberparallel PCI I/O card, which has one
parallel port. The parallel port on my motherboard stopped working after
my house got hit by lightning a year ago.
Anyway, I disabled the parallel port on the MB in the bios, then put my
new one in. I booted up, and inserted the parport module. Then, when I
tried to insert the parport_pc module, I get the message:
/lib/modules/2.2.12-20/misc/parport_pc.o: init_module: Device or
resource busy
So apparently it cannot find the parallel port card. When I cat
/proc/pci, among other things, there is
Bus 0, device 14, function 0:
Parallel controller: Unknown vendor Unknown device (rev 0).
Vendor id=131f. Device id=2020
Medium devsel. Fast back-to-back capable. IRQ 7.
I/O at 0xfff0 [0xfff1]
I/O at 0xffe4 [0xffe5]
Maybe I'm wrong but perhaps the issue is that parport_pc is not able to
detect the card because its I/O range is not the standard 03bc, 0378 or
0278 ?
Any help would be very much apprecited, as I need my ZIP drive to start
doing backups again 'cause I'm too cheap to buy a tape drive.
Thanx in advance -
