Hello everybody,
I just got a used Imation SuperDisk (parallel port model) and am having
troubles configuring my system to recognize it.
The system is running Linux 2.2.20.
I have read the installation manual and I think I followed the
instructions, but the drive is not recognized by the system (see error log
below)
The SuperDisk drive has a parallel port connector on one side of the cable
and SCSI-like connector on the drive side. I have opened the case of the
device and it seems to me that the drive itself has IDE interface (I
conclude from generic knowledge --- ATAPI protocol) There is nothing else
in the case but the drive and that SCSI-like to IDE board with no chips on
it (just some wiring). Maybe there is a chip inside the connectors on the
cable, I do not know...
I know that the drive works in windows, but I would like to use it from
linux.
Any help with installation of the drive will be highly appreciated.
Thank you very much for your assistance
Lazar
