Hello,

>Is the parallel port built in to the motherboard, or on an add-in card ?
It's on the PCI controller which has 2 ide port (pio mode 3), 1 game port, 2
serial port with 16550 UARTs

Here what the doc (can we call a single piece of paper a doc ? :) says:

Super-16550 Pro is a high performance VESA Local Bus high speed Super I/O
which supports 2 Enhanced IDE (Mode 3) hard disks, 2 floppy drivesd, 2 high
speed 16550 UART serial, 1 game port and 1 bi-directional ECP/EPP parallel
printer port.

(looks like "Noname SuperCrap stuff" IMO)

There's no jumper setting for parallel port stuff except for setting the IO
port. There's a jumper "FDD Enable", maybe this is what we're searching ?
Does FDD mean Floppy Disk Drive or is it my imagination ?

Anyway here's the dump:

############ testport -bidir ##################

############### testport -epp #################

Chipset : SMC FDC37C666GT

###############################################

And here's what PARALLEL.EXE says:

##################################################################
#Port Type|Address|IRQ|BIOS Name|Notes #
##################################################################
#No port # 3BC # - # - #No port found at this address #
#ECP port # 378 # ? # LPT1: #Need loopback to determine IRQ #
# # # # #See instructions in PARALLEL.DOC#
# # # # #Otherwise assume IRQ 7 or IRQ 5 #
# # # # #ECP port set to Test mode #
#No port # 278 # - # - #No port found at this address #
##################################################################

I ran both test in plain DOS with nothing in autoexec/config, no TSR, memory
managers etc...

Thanks for your help,
